This term, I learnt the different parts of a poem. Also, I learnt that there are many types of usage or words, like: metaphors, similes, personification, alliteration, assonance, onomatopoeia, symbolism, etc.
This really showed me the fun thing about poems where the rhymes and funny sounding words would actually make sense and connects with the other parts of the poem. And i understand that a good poem must not only rhyme well but must also have a linked meaning to bring a second meaning.

Limerick Poem
There was a little boy
Who little wanted to litter
Little did he want literature too
He ate little and so
Remained little much later

Reflection on this year's Language Arts
This year, I have increased my liking for literature. I have finally improved my understanding for the art of literature. Like how literature uses words for another hidden meaning. My favourite is figurative language as figurative language uses other words to represent another words meaning which I find is interesting.
Also, I finally understand what a summary question really wants. Previously, I thought that a summary question wants me to summarise only what the main character does. But I learnt that a summary question wants me to summarise the important happenings and points of the whole passage.

Listening To Sounds
I heard the owls hooting in the dark.
I heard the sheep bleating beyond the hill.
I heard the wolves howling the forest awake.
I heard the sparrows singing a conversation.
I heard the dogs barking up the trees.
I heard the horses set off on their hoofs.
I heard the bulls huff as they charged towards the greener side of the land.
I heard the bees buzz with sweetened rythms.
I heard the frogs croak as the clouds turned dark.
I heard the mice scatter rapidly past the kitchen floor.
I heard the roosters waking the farm up.
I heard the turkeys purr with ironic agony when Christmas came.
I heard the pigeons coo as they looked for leftovers.
I heard the ducks quacking in the pond.
I heard the pigs grunting in hungriness.
I heard the cats meow for a ball of yarn.
I heard the sheep bleating beyond the hill.
I heard the wolves howling the forest awake.
I heard the sparrows singing a conversation.
I heard the dogs barking up the trees.

Poem
A Dream Within A Dream by Edgar Allan Poe
Take this kiss upon the brow!
And, in parting from you now,
Thus much let me avow--
You are not wrong, who deem
That my days have been a dream;
Yet if hope has flown away
In a night, or in a day,
In a vision, or in none,
Is it therefore the less gone?
All that we see or seem
Is but a dream within a dream.
I stand amid the roar
Of a surf-tormented shore,
And I hold within my hand
Grains of the golden sand--
How few! yet how they creep
Through my fingers to the deep,
While I weep--while I weep!
O God! can I not grasp
Them with a tighter clasp?
O God! can I not save
One from the pitiless wave?
Is all that we see or seem
But a dream within a dream?
1)hope has flown away, creep Through my fingers, pitiless wave
2)I like this poem because of the way the poet describes the different contrast of different things. Also, the poet describes his feelings deeply, very specificly. Describing the different actions to express his feeling. Every specific action is described, even the way the sand moves through his fingers. The poet is also very clear in his poem that the poem is for another person. He does that by having the starting like a conversation. The poet also includes his own point of view, which is: Is all that we see or seem but a dream within a dream. Most importantly, I like this poem becuase of its originality.

Reflections on world book day
World Book Day was yesterday! Although I did not go to the mobile library, I knew it would have been a fun time. I haven't been to the national library for quite some time. Yesterday Proed had their consortium assembly, then we were held back by the assembly for about 10 minutes, unfortunately on that day my CCA had to start on 2.15 p.m. because of a special event. Then after eating lunch, it was already 2.10 p.m. So my chance of visiting the Natational Library's mobile library was ruined. Despite that, i will continue to appreciate World Book Day.
Yesterday. when going up to class after flag raising ceremony I saw the different decorations on the doors of other classes, all looked very interesting. Next year, I hope i would not miss the chance to visit the moblie library, of course if we have it agsin.

Urbanising Thul
Urbanising in Thul is taking place. By reports from the India government, this will take place as soon as from 2011. The government is planning to develop the place into a tourism town. The main objective of this is to raise the number of jobs for the residence of Thul. The government noticed that Thul residents had to travel to Bombay just to make a living for their family. The government wants to give its people a better welfare, he wants to gain their people's support. The residents of Thul, after hearing this news had a night of celebration, this project has brought smiles to most of the frowning faces in Thul. The government is confident to make this project a complete success.

Bodily category
I chose this picture to describe poisoned Pinto. Its eyes were opened, body stiff and matted hair.

I chose this picture to describe the medicine man attedning to Lila's mother. As stated in the story, Lila's mother was so weak that she could not even get up, which is also demostrated in the picture. There was also a fire stated in the story, and the medicine man performing some rituals.

I chose this picture to describe Lila offering flowers to the sacred rock. I chose this picture because i believe Lila was squating when she offered the flowers.
Musical Category

Ambient Music Link <--This is my link to the music.
I chose it because in the beginning, the rhythm of the music is slow, with both soft and loud tunes. then almost in the middle of the music, the music got louder, suitable for the storyline where the troubles came in. Also, i feel that this music lets one feel in peace, so i feel that its a great ambient music.

Lila: I hated my father for gambling and excessive drinking. I just wished he would not exist, anyway with him around is just a burden to our family. He would just raise our expenses by drinking. "Die please!" I would say to him if I had a chance. Why did he not just make use of his boat adn lead a normal life? Why did he make that stupid decision to go and gamble, and in the end being have to sell away his boat to pay off his debts! For our sake, how could he not pull himself together now. Mother is sick, me and Hari earns so little, Bela and Kemal still has to attend to school, thier school fees... How are we going to survive like this?

Why my ending?
Basically, i chose the tiger for my ending because the story described the young man and the young woman having an affair more than describing the princess and young man's love for each other. So i thought that this would be a better ending. The story also stress alot on descrbing the princess as a babaric one, so i suggested this ending. Another thing is that i feel that the princess is a very selfish person, due to the fact that she said if she cannot have the young man, no one else can have him. With influence from her father, the king, i think that this ending is a more reasonable one.
Tiger!! Not lady!!

Right at that very moment, a ferocious tiger prowled onto the man. The man gave a final stare at the princess, tears rushing out. A man shedding tears, something so powerful, so mighty, the sense of betrayer. That is what have the power to make a strong young man shed tears. The tiger devoured the man, his head landed on the ground, tears that dripped looked like fallen leaves, never able to feel life again. The princess, gave an evil smile, what was that that could overcome a love that was between two brave people, brave enough to disobey the King's law. Its jealousy, it can overcome one's mind, make one kill someone that was like their other half. The princess instructed her subjects to open the other door. The men opened the door and scrambled off. Light shone on the young lady, she raised her head and gave a big smile, opening her eys big and taking big steps out of the door. Soon, her smile turned into a timid scared face. The tiger, got off the young man and preyed the young lady. The princess sat on her throne and and gave an evil laughter that would make no human-being have the courage to offend this babaric princess.

Interview: Transcript

Eng Chow: What are your opinions about crime and punishment or the necessity to communicate in a relationship?
Pansy: 1)crime and punishment is closely related. punishment should be given for crimes, regardless of the reason behind the committing of the crime
2)communication is the key to a great relationship.
Eng Chow: Why do you think communication is the key to great relationships?
Pansy: For two people to develop a bond, they have to understand each other. They need to be able to think in each other's shoes and support each other, these cannot be done without proper communication.
Eng Chow: Thank you for spending time with me for this interview, your sharing would be greatly useful.

An interesting story i found in comphre test one!
IN the first comphre test, which you may have known from my previous post, i failed it, but apart from the fail, i have also read an essay which i found very interesting. It was Passage A, the story about the ants' war. The story described little actions from the ants which I have always found very interesting. The different ants coming into contact together was so cool, although the contact was brutal contact.. whenever i see marching ants, i would stop by to see them but never really seen ants' war except on animal planet or national geographic..
Comphre test failure...
Argh! I failed my comphre test!! We got the results yesterday. When Mr. LundBerg said he was going to give out our test results, i got all excited, but my index number was 32 so i had to wait quite awhilw before i could get mine. Before giving out, Mr. Lundberg told us that the test was badly done, only a few, very few of us passed. At that very moment, I was hoping that i was the one very few that passed, so when the papers were given out, I tried to take a peek at everyone's paper. Seeing that very less passes, I felt that I had more chance of having a pass. So i stared at Mr. Lundberg's hand, he was giving out the papers. Finally, Terrence.. Patrick.. Eng Chow!! Its mine! I ran up and grab my paper, dissapointed to see a failure.. just by two marks! i thought to myself. So, now i worked hard on the second test, hoping to score better...

Mary Maloney's diary.
Oh dear! What have i done! I killed my beloved husband? I claimed that i won't let him go but it was i who sent him away! I am so sorry dear. I was in a state of shock i could not control my actions. I did not want to use the lamb for a weapon but wanted to for us to have it for supper. I am so sorry dear. I wish you were her by my side, but i know my actions are not forgivable. But when your up there i want you to know that i still love you. I wish i could make whiskey for you everyday, see your face, but now its all gone...

Online Quiz+Reflections
Birmingham Grid for Learning - Multiple Intelligences (Primary): "Results for ml27m68206j."
I benefitted from this quiz! I now know that i am best in interpersonal which is people smart. To me, that means i handle people affairs well. That explains! Firstly in P4 two of my good friends fell out and guess what i patched them back together! Now we're still good friends! I am guessing this is because i am always the happy one and loves to jokes alot, has alot of friends in primary school. So maybe because of that i hate quarelling. Thats a good point =D Keep smiling!!
