The school children should be held responsible for Margot's treatment. As nine year old children they should have been mature enough to know that when there is a newcomer they should all the more welcome him/her warmly instead of treating her as an absolute outsider. Just because of the fact that she was new, her words were treated as nonsense even when the scientists also said the sun was going to appear. The children have absolute no respect for Margot. This immaturity of the children caused Margot to be treated as an outsider instead of a schoolmate.
If I were a part of the school children, I would choose to at least trust Margot since she had more memories of the Sun than me and most of the other children. No matter how unbelievable her words were I would still try my best to trust her, a sign of acceptance to her as a schoolmate at least. And in the end we would be able to enjoy the embrace of the Sun's warmth together as friends, instead of enjoying what we thought was not real and the only believer would miss it. Also, if we made friends with Margot, Margot would also be willing to share with us more descriptions of the Sun, which would benefit both parties.
