Blog Prompt #17

As soon I as push open the door, I was thrown aback by the overwhelming stench wafting from the little mountain of dirty laundry. Gym socks hung on the edge of the bed which had its sheets crumpled and almost coming off. Stacks of pizza boxes stacked along the bedside, ants took the challenge to reach the top of the box building. Once again, shivers were sent down my spine as I recalled the stench from “Mt. Dirty Laundry”. The room was literally conquered by the stench of dirty laundry, decomposing food stuff and stuff I could not figure the origins of. The little mountain of dirty laundry, some wet with perspiration, while others had mud and soil all over them were the commanders of the stench army. Then the second in command was the smell of decomposing food stuff. I spotted a plastic wrapper with half-eaten bread in it, one half of it was moulding. Just a small turn of my neck, I was able to spot yet another bag of food. The wrapper wrote “M” which told me it was McDonalds; I took a peep in and saw moulding fries. With that, I knew it was left there for more than eight weeks already, that’s the time needed for McDonalds’ fries to mould anyway.
