Reflections on CIP Activity
On the 12th of March went with fellow CCA-mates to Ren Ci community hospital to visit elderlies and to spend time with them. We started off with a briefing by the hospital staff; she told us the precautions to take note of and if anything happens what we should do. After that we proceeded to the 12th and 13th levels of the hospital building to visit the elderlies. Some were lively, with constant smiles on their faces and chatting with one another while some were staring to the front as if thinking of something. But when we approached them they seemed to welcome us very much, with smiles. At first it was difficult to communicate with the elderlies as most of them spoke dialects which I did not know how to speak. We showed them magic tricks which made them happy. Some of the more active elderlies were very curious to know the trick behind the magic, so we taught them. Some of them shared many interesting stories with us which described how they were when they were young or experiences that they thought were interesting. Overall I felt that the CIP trip was very meaningful as we could make the elderlies happy.
