Sources Comparision

The sources I used are http://www.bellaonline.com/articles/art4260.asp , cited from Wikipedia and http://anime.about.com/od/animeprimer/a/What-Is-Anime.htm which I found myself.
The source cited in Wikipedia is mainly telling its readers what Anime actually is and its special characteristics or simply introducing Anime. However, the source I found is mainly telling its readers the good, bad and origins, it goes into details and analyses Anime. Since the source from Wikipedia written solely from the western perspective of what Anime is, it does not have the all-rounded perspective and thus is less credible. Anime originated from Japan, so if the reader were to only see this “Western perspective” source he would only get the secondary point of view rather than the actual information that is seen from the original creator’s point of view. The source I found is not trying to promote Anime; it is instead answering questions about Anime. It explains the history part of Anime which is the perspective of their creators because the creators created Anime’s history. As for whether the cited source was properly used in the Wikipedia entry, it is not very obvious that the information from the cited source was used because many other sources were used too. But the cited source supports the fact that “Anime is commonly defined as animation originating in Japan. (アニメ?, an abbreviated pronunciation in Japanese of "animation", pronounced [anime] in Japanese, but typically /ˈænɨmeɪ/ or /ˈænɨmə/ in English.) The definition sometimes changes depending on the context. In English-speaking countries, anime is also referred to as "Japanese animation".” Which is very true as most Anime’s nowadays are produced by Japan.
