A shortage of women in our world would result in an increase rate of sex trafficking a great drop in birth rate levels and traditional beliefs not being able to be carried out.
Because of lesser women to match each man, many men would get sexually frustrated and turn to prostitution. Thus when the demand for prostitutes get high, more people would then try to meet the demands and bring more women into the prostitution business. Many women are tricked into going into the prostitution business when they seek for jobs overseas and these women do not only dedicate their service to only one man but a few. This means one woman has to satisfy the needs of many men.
When the number of woman gets less by the day, not every man would get a wife due to the lack of women. Thus as the number of couples get lesser, so will the birth rates because less couples are going to get married. This is also supported by the fact that women are the ones carrying the baby in her womb when she is pregnant, so without women the possibility of giving birth to more babies is definitely zero. Also, if the trend that a first child must be a boy carries on, more female babies would be aborted and this also means the decrease of birth rates as more time is used just to give birth to one baby.
Traditional beliefs such as marrying to continue the family line by giving birth to a boy has caused much of a problem. The numbers of females have decreased significantly because more couples are aborting female babies. In a long term aspect, marrying would then be as issue to many men because they are not able to look for the other half of the pair. These people fail to see that by only wanting boys to be their heirs will cause their boys to not only be able to find a wife but also the fact that the boy would be able to carry on the family line.
In conclusion, the large imbalance of men being significantly more than the number of women will cause a lot of chaos and affect the world’s present peace and harmony.
